Woman Arrested In England In Connection With Murder Of Katie Simpson

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in England in connection with the murder of Katie Simpson.

Simpson (21) died at Altnagelvin Hospital on 09 August 2020, following an incident at an address in Gortnessy Meadows, L'Derry on 03 August 2020.

The arrested woman will be brought back to NI for questioning, police have said.

Detective Inspector Mark Gibson said: "We continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder of 21 year old Katie ...

"I am asking you today, if you have any information that could assist us with our investigation, no matter how insignificant you may think it is, please contact police. Your information could be that vital piece we need to bring those responsible for Katie's death to justice.

"Katie deserves justice. Katie's family deserve justice.

Appeal Issued For Missing Teenagers
Police have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of 14-year-old Katie Jackson Lilburn and 15-year-old Darren Braxton. PSNI Ards have said they are becoming increasingly concerned for the teenagers, who were last seen in the Comber area on Wednesday night, 26 April.

NI film wins top award at international festival
Following its general release on Friday June 18 ‘Freeze Frame’, the first feature film from Northern Ireland born duo Michael Casey and John Simpson, received the top honour at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy over the weekend. Director John Simpson received the Grand Jury BNL Award for the Best First Film and prize of €25,000.
