Five Arrested And Alcohol Seized In Holylands Disturbances
Additional police resources are to be deployed in the Holyland's area of south Belfast following two nights of disturbances.
Police have arrested five people and seized more than 2,500 bottles and cans of alcohol as large crowds of young people gathered in the streets on Sunday and Monday nights.
The arrests include disorderly behaviour and burglary.
According to reports, a penalty notice for disorderly behaviour and ten community resolution notices have also been issued.
The Holylands has a high concentration of students and there has been issues with anti-social behaviour for a number of years.
Police have said that in the recent disturbances, young people had travelled into the area from across the city.

Hard-Hitting Road Safety Message Delivered To Young People
Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.

Three people arrested following disturbances
Three people have been arrested following disturbances in north Belfast last night. A family had to be evacuated from their home following the trouble in the Clifton Street area on Monday. One woman was taken to hospital, but was later released. Police said it appeared that a row had broken out between residents in Stanhope Street.

Three people arrested following Omagh disturbances
Two men and a woman have been arrested following disturbances in Co Tyrone last night. Police were called to Lisanelly Heights in Omagh when it was reported that a group of people had been breaking windows in the area and had set a car alight. When police arrived they were attacked with bricks and bottles by around 20 people.

Police Service to receive £16m additional funding
The Northern Ireland Security Minister Jane Kennedy has announced the police service is set to receive £16 million this year to cover extra spending pressures. Ms Kennedy made the announcement during Northern Ireland questions in the House of Commons on Wednesday February 13.
