Absconded Convicted Murderer Returns To Custody

A convicted murderer who absconded while on temporary release from prison has been recaptured and returned to custody.

60-year-old Samuel McKinley was serving a life sentence at HMP Maghaberry for the murder of a man in Southampton in 1996.

According to reports, he had been on temporary release when he went missing on 17 September.

The Department of Justice has now reported that McKinley has been recaptured and returned to custody.

Woman Arrested Over Thefts Across NI
A woman has been arrested as part of a PSNI investigation into thefts across Northern Ireland. The 45-year-old suspect was detained in the Aughnacloy area on Thursday, 21 September. She is being questioned at Dungannon custody suite. No other information has been released.
