New Bootcamp For NI's Next Generation Of Chefs
A new NI Chef Bootcamp has been announced offering budding chefs the opportunity to build a career in the hospitality industry.
The Bootcamp has been developed by Belfast Metropolitan College and local hospitality businesses and is fully funded by the Department for the Economy.
Participants will gain practical skills and experience in food preparation and basic cookery, alongside achieving industry relevant qualifications in Food Safety and Food Allergen Awareness. With masterclasses from local chefs and first-hand insight into how a commercial kitchen operates, the NI Chef Bootcamp provides a starting point for those interested in a career as a chef.
The programme is open to anyone who is over 18 and eligible to work in Northern Ireland. Financial assistance is available to help with travel and childcare costs. Benefits, including universal credit will not be impacted by your participation in the course.
The course runs over 4 weeks, Monday – Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm starting 1st November to 26th November at Belfast Met's e3 building, Springvale Campus.

Chefs from some of Belfast's top restaurants and hotels have contributed to a new free recipe book as part of Belfast City Council's Recycle Week programme. The un-EAT-en cookbook includes a range of dishes that have been created to reduce food waste, and can be whipped up using simple ingredients that won't break the bank.

A Graduate Winter Bootcamp at the University of Ulster to boost graduates' employment prospects has proved so popular that organisers are planning a series of similar events for the future. The two-day forum attracted more participants than expected and those who were unable to secure a place will be enrolled in the next session.
