Contaminated beef seized by officials
Beef believed to be contaminated with illegal growth promoters has been seized by Department of Agriculture vets.
Authorities are believed to have moved in when the animals were delivered from a beef fattening farm to a local abattoir.
Initial tests are believed to have detected illegal substances. Tonnes of meat, destined for local shops, have now been dumped.
No further details of the operation have been released by the department.
