Appeal For Information On Serious Assault In South Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a serious assault on a man in south Belfast.
A man, aged in his 40s, is being treated in hospital after he was "brutally" assaulted inside a lift at Hartington Court off the Dublin Road, according to the police.
At about 10pm on Tuesday, the man is believed to have been followed into the building by two men, who then attacked him when they boarded the lift.
Police have said that they believe the man was struck on the head with a bottle. He suffered injuries to his ribs, lost a tooth and was slashed on the face.
Police are trying to establish a motive for the attack and have appealed for anyone with information, or anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious, to contact them.

Police have issued an appeal for information following a serious assault in north Belfast. A man is being treated in hospital after he was reportedly beaten by a number of men at a house on meadow Grove. According to police a number of masked me forced their way into the property and proceeded to beat the victim with suspected metal bars.

Police in Belfast are appealing to the public for information to try and identify the man pictured. The man is believed to have been involved in a serious attack which happened outside licensed premises in the Bank Square area at around 10pm on 16 January.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Detectives in Cookstown have renewed appeals for information following the brutal rape of a young woman in County Tyrone at the weekend. At around 2am on Friday April 26 a 17-year-old girl was with a friend in the car park of the Greenvale Hotel on the Drum Road in Cookstown.
