DUP 'Pause' Threat To Executive For New Protocol Talks
The DUP has reportedly "paused" their threat to collapse the Executive over the NI Protocol to allow for new talks.
Party leader, Sir Jeffrey Donaldon, is meeting today with Foreign Secretary Liz Truss. Ahead of the meeting, Truss, the UK's new lead negotiator with the EU, is reported to have said that she "would not accept a deal which meant goods from Great Britain being checked as they enter Northern Ireland". Sir Jeffrey has said that he wants to establish "if her words are matched by actions".
Speaking to BBC NI's Good Morning Ulster, Sir Jeffrey said that he believed the the Ms Truss was "on the same page" as the DUP and that "he would not set a timeline on pulling DUP ministers out of the executive ahead of meeting her".

Former DUP Leader, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife, Lady Eleanor Donaldson, have appeared before Newry Magistrates Court charged with a number of historical sex offences. Donaldson, 61, is facing a total of 11 charges, including one charge of rape, one of gross indecency involving a child and nine charges of indecent assault.
