Major Investment In GCSE Revision Guides
Education Minister Michelle McIlveen, has announced a major investment in GCSE Revision Guides to support pupils preparing for their examinations.
The investment of more than £200,000 is one element of a wide range of additional support which has been put in place to support pupils taking public examinations in summer 2022, which includes funding for Easter revision schemes and also the provision of GCSE Maths revision cards, lessons and practice questions.
Minister McIlveen said: "I am pleased to announce the roll-out of these excellent GCSE revision resources.
"Investment of over £200,000 for eBooks will provide significant support materials to young people as they prepare for their examinations."
All post-primary schools are able to purchase Revision eBooks across a wide range of subjects for their pupils undertaking GSCEs with The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).
Each school will be allocated funding, dependent on Year 12 pupil numbers, to spend on guides.
The revision guides include GCSE English, Double and Single Award Science, biology, chemistry, physics, geography; history; digital technology; religious studies, food and nutrition.

Major Drug Bust In Omagh Linked To INLA
Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have made a significant drug seizure in Omagh. Officers searched a van in the Doogary Road area on Thursday morning, 21st November, and recovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of £750,000.

£17m To Support Pensioners Affected By Winter Fuel Payment Changes
Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has announced a £17 million fund to support pensioners who have lost eligibility for the Winter Fuel Payment due to recent UK government changes. The one-off £100 payment will be automatically issued to an estimated 250,000 pensioners in around 170,000 households before the end of March 2025.
