Reports Of 'Serious Incident' In North Belfast

Police are attending a "serious incident" in north Belfast.

According to reports, a large police presence is in attendance at Derrycoole Way in Rathcoole. It is understood that police have secured the area surrounding a grey car, which is said to have its boot and doors open. The car is parked at Clonmore Green close to its junction with Crossreagh Drive.

Reports state that two men have been arrested and a vehicle has been seized.

Separately, police have also cordoned off a scene in the Councillors Road/New Line area of Carrickfergus, with a large number of officers at Woodburn reservoir.

No further information has been released.

Two Arrested After 'Suspicious Activity'
Two men have been arrested by police following reports of suspicious activity in the North Circular Road area of Belfast. Police attended the scene and arrested two males on suspicion of burglary and possession of class A and B drugs. No further information is available.

Large Gorse Fire Ongoing In Newcastle
Firefighters are tackling an ongoing large gorse fire in Newcastle. According to reports, eight fire engines and almost 50 firefighters are at the scene in the Drinahilly Mountain area near Tollymore Forest Park. It is understood that some 10 acres of gorse are affected by the fire. Specialist wildfire officers are also at the scene.

Colin Horner Murder: Man Arrested
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner. Mr Horner, 35, was fatally shot in front of his young son in a supermarket car park on Sunday, 28 May. The man was arrested in the Newtownards area on Friday, 16 June. He has been taken to Musgrave Police station for questioning.
