Minister announces two-day technology showcase
Enterprise Minister, Barry Gardiner, today urged businesses, public bodies and community groups to sign up for a two-day showcase of Europe-wide best practice in applying online technology.
The conference, ‘e-Europe4all’, will take place in Londonderry on 15 and 16 June and will highlight best practice in online technologies, including e-business, e-learning and e-health, from across Europe.
Launching the event, Mr Gardiner said: "This is an opportunity for all those involved in the Information Society to check out interactive examples of best practice from across Europe. It will allow delegates to make innovative improvements to their own systems and to ensure Northern Ireland stays at the cutting edge of ICT.
"It is imperative that all those at the forefront of Information Society activity in Northern Ireland are fully aware of these advances."
The event is not confined to a conference hall - an entire section of Londonderry will be broadband-enabled to showcase the technology in ‘real’ surroundings.
This will also exemplify the benefits of the recently announced broadband initiative that will set Northern Ireland up as the European leader by becoming the first region in Europe committed to achieving 100% equitable broadband coverage by 2005.
To register for the event or obtain further details log on to the official website at www.e-europe4all.net
