Man Attacked In Bangor

A man, aged in his 60s, has been injured after he was beaten and kicked to the ground in the face and head in Bangor.

The assault occurred in the Castle Street area at around 10pm on Saturday, 21 May.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm and has been detained in police custody.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Two Men Seriously Assaulted In Bangor
The PSNI in Bangor have issued an appeal for information following an assault in the town in the early hours of Saturday morning. Two men were attacked by two other men at about 1.40am on Bridge Street in Bangor, Co Down. The victims required hospital treatment for "non life-threatening facial injuries".

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man Attacked With Hammer In L'Derry
A 19-year-old man has been assaulted with a hammer in L'Derry. The victim was attacked at Ard Grange on Wednesday. He suffered a head injury. Police have arrested a man, 28, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and having an offensive weapon. No further details have been released.
