Man Attacked With Hammer In Co Antrim
A man, aged in his 60's, has sustained injuries to his head and legs after being hit with a hammer during a house burglary in Co Antrim.
The incident occurred in Kilmakevit Crescent, Cullybackey, at around 7.25pm on Saturday.
A man gained entry to a house and struck the victim several times with a hammer before making off on foot "empty-handed", according to the police.
The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The suspect has been described as around 5ft 10inches tall, of medium build with fair hair.
He is believed to have been wearing a black bomber jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, a dark-coloured hat and a blue face mask.

Man doused in petrol during Belfast robbery
The manager of a west Belfast off-licence has been doused with petrol, punched and beaten with a gun during an armed robbery. Two men, one armed with a handgun and another with a claw hammer entered the premises at the Springfield shop at 8:45 on Sunday morning. They ordered the manager behind the counter and demanded he open two safes and a till.

Police appeal following hammer attack
Police are continuing to appeal for information after an 18-year-old woman was injured in a hammer attack in Co Down on Friday. The victim was in her Inishargie Gardens flat at about 5pm when a man called at her door and attacked her, hitting her several times over the head with a hammer.

An investigation has launched following an armed robbery in west Belfast. The incident happened at a shop on Suffolk Road at around 8pm on Saturday, 24 February. Two men, armed with a hammer and a knife, threatened a staff member and demanded money. The suspects, believed to be in their late teens, made off with a sum of cash.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. The victim, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition after being assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September.
