Woman Arrested In Terrorism Investigation

Detectives from the Terrorism Investigation Unit have arrested a 42-year-old woman in West Belfast as part of an investigation into activities linked to a dissident republican terrorist group.

The woman was arrested under the Terrorism Act early this morning and is being held at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite.

PSNI Detective Inspector Keith Wilson said: "Today's arrest and search is part of an investigation into criminality linked to Óglaigh na hÉireann.

"A number of items have been seized and removed for further examination.

"Whilst we understand the impact our operational activity can have upon the day-to-day lives of local residents, please be assured we seek to plan activity to maximise safety and minimise any disruption.

"We will continue to work with communities to disrupt those involved in terrorism-related activity and reduce the harm they cause to our society."

Man Arrested In L'Derry
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in L'Derry. Officers from the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation unit carried out a search at a property in connection with an ongoing on Wednesday, 04 November. A number of items were seized for further examination. The man was taken to be questioned, however he has now been released.

Two Men Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of Police Officer
Two men have been arrested following the attempted murder of a police officer who has a fireball bomb planted in her car in L'Derry. The suspects, aged 36 and 26, are being detained under the Terrorism Act.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit have carried out searches at two addresses in the Derry City & Strabane area early this morning, Thursday 22 August. The searches, in Strabane and the Lettershandoney area, are part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.

Woman Arrested In Connection With Dissident Republican Activity
Police have arrested a woman in Dunmurry in connection with dissident republican activity. Detectives from the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit made the arrest during a search operation in the Dunmurry area on Wednesday, 27 June. The 39-year-old was detained during the search and questioned before being released unconditionally.
