Appeal For Information On Man Last Seen In April
Police in North Belfast have issued an appeal for information on the whereabouts of 55-year-old Alistair Adair, who was last seen in Belfast in April 2022.
Mr Adair is described as approximately 5'7", of medium build and walks with a "distinctive shuffle".
It is understood that he has links to Newcastle, Enniskillen and Bangor.
Police have said that they are "increasingly concerned" for his welfare.
Anyone with any information about his whereabouts, or who may have seen Mr Adair, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 878 12/09/22.
Castledawson Roadworks Scheme To begin 26 September
The Department for Infrastructure has announced that a £2 million resurfacing scheme on the A6 Glenshane Road, Castledawson will get underway on Monday 26 September 2022.
The works which will extend a distance of approximately four kilometres from Lurganagoose Road to Castledawson Roundabout will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of the road network for many years to come.
During the works two-way traffic flow will be maintained Monday to Friday with a mandatory 40mph speed limit in place and overtaking will be prohibited.
Due to the nature of the scheme it will be necessary to introduce a full road closure of the A6 Glenshane Road to all traffic between Lurganagoose Road and Castledawson Roundabout during a number of weekends (Friday nights at 19:00hrs through to Monday mornings at 06:00hrs). The first weekend closure will commence on Friday 30 September. All weekend closures will be signed on site one week in advance of the works and the Trafficwatchni website will be updated on a regular basis to reflect the contractors programme of works.
Belfast City Council Approve Number Of Planning Applications
Belfast City Council's Planning Committee has approved a number of new developments across the city.
Approval was granted to develop 31 social housing units in east Belfast which will include 16 apartments and 15 townhouses. The proposal will also involve car parking, landscaping and associated site works on the Woodstock and Beersbridge Road.
Permission was also granted for a three-storey extension at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School. This development will consist of a bridge link to the existing school building, reconfiguration of existing parking and the restoration of hard play areas.
Chair of the Planning Committee Councillor Carl Whyte said: "This is really positive news for Belfast and in particular the communities in east and north Belfast.
"Access to affordable social housing makes a real difference to people's lives and will enable communities like those in both the Woodstock and Beersbridge Road to thrive.
"Schools and homes are the essence of our local communities and really improve the social fabric of the area. I am delighted these two major applications were approved this evening as everyone in our city should have the opportunity to access an affordable home and an adequate school building."

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

Road Closed In North Belfast Following Collision
The Ligoniel Road in north Belfast has closed following a one-vehicle collision. The road has been closed in both directions near the Wolfhill Road, according to the police. Diversions have been put in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. No other details have been released.
