Flybe flight delayed and redirected following disturbances
More than 30 passengers had to be removed from a Glasgow to Belfast City bound flight following allegations of serious disturbances on the aircraft shortly before take-off.
The incident occurred on a Flybe flight which was due to leave Glasgow at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
On top of the alleged rowdy behaviour, the captain had passengers removed after smelling alcohol in the main cabin.
Those behind the rowdy behaviour were grounded in Glasgow, while the remaining 17 passengers were flown to Belfast International Airport after a three-hour delay.
A statement from Flybe said: "The captain discerned a strong smell of alcohol in the passenger cabin, and in the interests of passenger safety and comfort, he off-loaded the aircraft.
"Given the subsequent late departure of the flight it was diverted to Belfast international where passengers were bussed to Belfast City Airport on arrival.
"Passenger safety is paramount in all of Flybe's operations and an investigation is under way to ascertain the full circumstances of this incident.
"The 17 passengers who travelled should contact customer services in Exeter to seek a refund."

Loganair Takes Over Two Flybe Routes
Scottish airline Loganair is to take over two former Flybe routes from Belfast City Airport. The flights to Aberdeen and Inverness will commence later this month and run on a daily basis, the airport has announced. Operations at Belfast City Airport are almost at a halt this morning after Flybe collapsed into administration. The firm announced earlier today that it had ceased trading with immediate affect. A team of administrators have been appointed.

Bombardier Aerospace has today announced the sale of Belfast City Airport to Spanish construction firm Ferrovial for £35 million. Juan Bejar, General Manager of Ferrovial’s infrastructure division said the acquisition was "a further opportunity for growth in a strategic business area".

Belfast City help boost bmi passenger numbers
Belfast City Airport has helped leading UK airline, bmi record a 21% increase in passenger numbers for the month of September. The company's Belfast route saw passenger numbers rise by 14% with the overall number of passengers flying on bmi airlines in September rising to 881,189. The overall monthly load factor also grew by 1% to 74%.

Train Services Disrupted By Security Alert In Lurgan
Train services have been disrupted by a security alert in Lurgan, County Armagh. Lake Street is closed between North Street and Victoria Street. The railway line between Lurgan and Moira has also been closed. Translink said replacement buses have been put in place for Enterprise passengers travelling between Belfast and Dublin.
