Two Men Jailed For 18 years For Number Of Sexual Offences

Two men have been jailed for a total of 18 years at Laganside Crown Court for a number of offences including rape and indecent assault.

Dennis Allen, aged 48, was sentenced to 14 years and will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.

Philip Hall, also aged 48, was sentenced to 4 years, and was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.

Welcoming the sentencing, Detective Inspector Kelly Gallagher said: "What happened to the victims in this case, who were children at the time of the offending, was nothing short of horrific.

"They have shown incredible bravery throughout the entire criminal justice process.

"We take allegations of this nature extremely seriously and will provide support at every step of the way to ensure justice is served.

"We urge anyone who has experienced any form of sexual abuse to report to police. Do not suffer in silence.

"Call 101 or 999 in cases of emergency."

Pathway Fund Applications Open For Early Years Providers
Education Minister, Paul Givan, has announced the opening of online applications for the Targeted Early Years Pathway Fund for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years. The Pathway Fund, introduced in 2016, aims to provide early years education services for children aged 0-4 who may be at risk of falling behind in their education.

On The Run 'High Risk Predator' Detained
An escaped convicted rapist, described as a "high risk sexual predator", has been captured after two days on the run. Mark Thomas Clarke, who went missing during a training course in Nutt's Corner was arrested on the Springfield Road at around 2.00pm on Tuesday afternoon.
