Carl Frampton Backs 2023 Mega Deals Campaign

Carl Frampton has thrown his weight behind SPAR, EUROSPAR and ViVO branded stores' value promise to shoppers, delivering knock out prices with an all-new Mega Deals campaign for 2023.

The former World Champion boxer and community advocate stars in the retailer's new TV ad series for Mega Deals, the money saving initiative that is ringing in the New Year.

Mega Deals is returning with a £1.4 million initiative for 2023, that this year will see over five months of weekly deals delivering deep cut prices on high value products in promotional bursts throughout the year, available across over 500 stores.

Developed in 2022 by owners Henderson Group, Mega Deals is the retailer's opportunity to extend their fresh and local deals to wider national brands and household essentials.

Launching just a few weeks after another successful year for the 12 Deals of Christmas campaign, Mega Deals starts the new year as it means to go on – delivering value to shoppers when they need it most.

Mega Deals launches throughout all SPAR, EUROSPAR and ViVO branded stores in Northern Ireland this week, bringing even more opportunity to stock up on essential deals.

Mega Deals phase one begins this week with Kellogg's Special K, less than half price at £2, while next week's double deal sees Mullerlight 6-packs less than half price at £2.25 and a 1.5kg bag of pears available for £1.49.

Dungannon Church Break-In Investigated

An investigation has been launched following a break-in at a church in Dungannon.

According to reports, a man was found to have forced entry into the sacristy of the church but appears to have been disturbed and fled the building before taking anything.

It is understood that a man and woman were captured on CCTV entering the St Patrick's Church shortly before the incident.

Nothing was taken during the incident but damage was caused to the door of the sacristy and police are keen to identify and talk to the two people.

Police have said that they believe the man and woman were in the church for about 15 minutes before the incident occurred.

Suspected Vehicle Arson Attack In Waterside Area

An investigation has been launched following a car fire in Blackthorn Manor in the Waterside area of L'Derry during the early hours of today, Wednesday, 4th January.

Both NIFRS and police attended the scene where the window of the vehicle had been smashed. An object is believed to have been placed inside the vehicle and set on fire. The incident, which was reported shortly after 3.25am, is being treated as arson.

Inspector Kyle Rowntree is appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area between 2am and 3.30am to call 101, quoting reference number 166 of 04/01/23.
