Newtownabbey Searches In South East Antrim UDA Investigation

The PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) and the Tactical Support Group (TSG) have carried out a series of searches in Newtownabbey as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected criminality linked to the South East Antrim UDA.

Following the operations, Detective Sergeant Pyper, said: "As a result of the searches a number of items were recovered, including suspected Class B & Class C controlled drugs, a quantity of cash and a number of mobile devices.

"The searches and seizures are a demonstration of the PCTF's commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality linked to paramilitaries, in an ongoing effort to rid our communities of the harm these groups cause and of their coercive control.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and we would like to thank the local community for their continued support and will continue to act on the information you provide us."

Weapons Seized From Newtownabbey Business Presmises
Four business premises in Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus have been searched and inspected by detectives from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) on Wednesday 29th May. During one of the searches two BB guns were recovered and have been removed for further forensic examination. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

A search operation has been carried out in Carrickfergus by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF), assisted by officers from the Tactical Support Group (TSG), as part of an investigation into suspected criminality linked to the South East Antrim UDA.
