Five people escape injury in sea drama
Five people have escaped injury after their boat started to sink off the north coast at the weekend.
Belfast Coastguard, with the help of a rescue helicopter, was able to reach 'The Boy Conail' which had run into trouble west of Rathlin Island at around 6pm on Sunday.
While stemming the flow of water onto the vessel, the fishing vessel began to make its way into Ballycastle escorted by two lifeboats and a helicopter.
Diana Gadd, Belfast Coastguard Watch Manager says: "The crew reacted swiftly to their predicament, stopping this incident from escalating into a much more serious one.
"They made a broadcast quickly, ensured that they all had lifejackets on and had a liferaft onboard."
'The Boy Conail' was about to deploy its liferaft when it relayed its Mayday call to the Coastguard.
