Number Of Properties Searched In Lower Shankill Area
A number of properties in west Belfast have been searched by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force on Sunday 19th February.
The searches in the lower Shankill area was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected criminality linked to the west Belfast UDA.
Detective Inspector Corrigan said: "A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class B controlled drug and possessing criminal property
"He remains in custody at this time, assisting police with our enquiries.
"A number of items, including a quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs, Class B controlled drugs, a sum of money and mobile phones were also seized during the search.
"Today's arrest and seizures are a demonstration of the PCTF's commitment to tackle all types of criminality linked to paramilitaries, in an ongoing effort to rid our communities of the harm these groups cause and of their coercive control.
"Our enquiries remain ongoing and we would like to thank the local community for their continued support and will continue to act on the information you provide us.
"I would encourage anyone with information about the supply or use of illegal drugs to contact police on 101."

Man Arrested In Connection With Drug Seizure In Belfast
A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a drug seizure made during a police search operation in Belfast. Officers from the Belfast Central Neighbourhood Policing Team and officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task seized a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C controlled drugs.

The PSNI have welcomed the sentencing of two men at Laganside Crown Court for a number of offences, following a major investigation into the activities of the east Belfast UVF. James McGrogan, aged 37, and 32-year-old Christopher Cullen were both convicted on Thursday 18th April, for a number of drug-related offences.

Following the PSNI Organised Crime Unit operation, Detective Sergeant Brian O'Neill said: "The man, aged in his forties, was arrested at Belfast International Airport following a proactive policing operation.
