PSNI investigates Two Weekend ATM Thefts
Detectives in Portadown and Toome are investigating separate incidents of ATM thefts over the weekend.
Appealing for information following a report of an ATM theft at the Dungannon Road area of Portadown on Friday 3rd March, Detective Chief Inspector Thornton said: "Shortly before 8:15am, it was reported to police that two men entered the forecourt of a service station in the area in the early hours of Friday 3rd March. It was reported that damage was caused to the ATM bunker door and ATM machine located and a substantial sum of money was taken during the incident.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at that time, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 292 03/03/23. Alternatively, information can also be provided by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Separately, the PSNI in Toome, received a report of an attempted ATM theft at the Roguery Road area on Sunday 5th March.
Detective Chief Inspector Thornton said: "At around 4:30am, it was reported to police that two men were observed trying to gain entrance to a door of an ATM in a forecourt in the area. As a vehicle entered the forecourt, it was reported the two men made off empty handed with damage caused to the ATM following the incident.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident / both incidents and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at that time, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 373 05/03/23. Alternatively, information can also be provided by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Investigation Launched After Several ATM Machines Targeted In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation after several ATM machines were targeted by thieves in Co Antrim. A shop in Aghalee was burgled in the early hours of Friday morning, 20 April, and a substantial amount of money was stolen. The burglars attempted to take an ATM machine, however they were unsuccessful.

Omagh Man Arrested Over ATM Thefts
Detectives investigating a series of ATM thefts in Co Tyrone have arrested a man in Omagh. The 26 year-old is being held on suspicion of theft and attempted theft offences in relation to incidents in the Omagh, Fintona and Irvinestown areas between December 2018 and March 2019.
