Autism NI Prepares To Celebrate World Autism Acceptance Week
Autism NI has urged people to get behind the message 'Be Kind To Different Minds', ahead of World Autism Acceptance Week from Monday 27th March until Sunday 2nd April 2023. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to get involved and show their support for our vibrant autism community.
Autism NI's CEO, Kerry Boyd, comments: "I would encourage the wider public to get behind our key message 'Be Kind to Different Minds' this World Autism Acceptance Week and learn more about how to support our autistic community. Autistic people are our friends, family neighbours and work colleagues. We want to build an inclusive society in Northern Ireland and give our autistic community the best tools and opportunities to live fulfilled lives.
"With over 35,000 autistic people across Northern Ireland, it is vital that we raise awareness and create a greater understanding and acceptance of autistic people within our wider society. Let's start by seeing things from another perspective and be kind to different minds."

Hays Travel has named Autism NI as its charity partner for its 25 branches in Northern Ireland. The company has pledged to raise £20,000 to help autistic people and their families. As the UK's largest independent travel agent, Hays Travel's pledge to Autism NI will help the charity deliver services to the autism community in the region.

NI's First Independent Autism Reviewer Appointed
The appointment of Northern Ireland's first Independent Autism Reviewer has been announced by Health Minister, Mike Nesbitt. Ema Cubitt was selected for the role following a Public Appointment Competition and will take up office in September for a five-year period.
