Radisson SAS to open £14m Belfast Hotel
A £14 million hotel creating around 80 jobs is to be built on the edge of Belfast city centre, it was announced today.
Construction of the Radisson SAS Hotel, Belfast, at the old Gasworks site off the Ormeau Road, is already underway and will be completed by the end of August. The new hotel is expected to create 80 full and part-time jobs.
Commenting on the announcement, Stuart Grant, General Manager, Radisson SAS Hotel, Belfast said: "This is a very exciting development for Radisson SAS. This will be a stylish hotel offering a range of world class facilities coupled with our warm friendly service and ‘can do’ attitude.
“As tourism becomes increasingly important to the Northern Ireland economy, we’re looking forward to bringing our own unique brand of service and style to tourists and business customers in Belfast.
"Many travellers will be familiar with the Radisson SAS brand and reputation and we are keen to build on that in the local market place and to forge strong working links with the local community.”
The 120 guest rooms will be created in two designs – Nordic and Urban, including five suites and one presidential suite.
The seven floor hotel will also have five meeting rooms, each with their own break out area and will be fully equipped with the very latest technology.
The restaurant and bar will be open to non-residents, all within walking distance of the Belfast’s main commercial area and shopping district.
Radisson SAS, has more than 127 hotels in 36 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with another 30 projects under development. Radisson SAS, Belfast will be the second hotel of its kind in Northern Ireland, (the other is at Limavady) and the eighth on the island of Ireland.
