NI To Host European ITF Open Taekwon-Do Championship

Northern Ireland has been announced as the host for the 2023 European ITF Open Taekwon-Do Championship, an event that will attract competitors from all across Europe.

The decision to invite NI to host the major sporting showcase, comes after very successful UKTC NI I.T.F. Open Taekwon-Do National Championships held on in September last year in the National Badminton Centre Lisburn, and the outstanding success for the Northern Ireland National Team at the WITC World Championships in November 2022.

Taekwon-Do has become the fastest growing Martial Art in Northern Ireland, as a sport it is graceful and powerful yet dynamic, exciting and fun. It is suitable for both males and females, children and adults from the age of 3 years upwards. The UKTC (N.I.) offers a three tier system for students depending on age and ability, which presents a step-by-step approach to learning this particularly popular style of Martial Art.

Local companies are being invited to explore sponsorship opportunities at the prestigious sporting event.

The group runs classes for Little Tiger Cubs, Active Tigers and Taekwon-Do in over 100 classes at various locations across the province. To find out more please visit our website at
