Man Arrested In Connection With Suspect Arson In Strabane

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a suspected arson at a house in Church View, Strabane, on Sunday 16th April.

Officers on patrol in the area noticed smoke coming from a house at Church View at around 10.50pm on Sunday night and immediately evacuated the neighbouring properties and brought the residents to a place of safety. Fire Service personnel attended and brought the fire under control but the house was left extensively damaged. One woman was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for smoke inhalation.

A man, aged 51, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

Police enquiries into the fire are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact detectives at Strand Road on 101, quoting reference number 2028 16/04/23. Appeal For Information On Holylands Arson
Police have issued an appeal for information following a fire at an unoccupied house in the Holylands. Emergency services responded to a fire at a house in Carmel Street, in the Holylands area, at about 9.30pm on Tuesday, 12 October. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control before it spread to any other properties.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE

An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Man Arrested In Connection With Suspected Arson In Limavady
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack at a block of flats in Limavady. At around 3.30am on Thursday, 20 July, police received a report that an oil tank at the block in the Glenview Drive area was on fire.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a suspected arson attack at a Sinn Féin office building on the Andersonstown Road in west Belfast in the early hours of this morning, Monday 20 August. Issuing the appeal, Inspector McCullough said: "The fire was reported to us at around 4:50am.
