'Viable Pipe Bomb' At Centre Of Antrim Rd Security Alert
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a security alert on the Antrim Road in north Belfast.
Emergency services responded to reports of a suspicious object shortly before 6pm last night, Thursday 11 May. Ammunition Technical Officers were called to the scene to examine the device, which was discovered to be a viable pipe bomb. Over the course of a number of hours, the device was made safe and removed for further examination. The scene was declared safe at 11pm.
The PSNI thanked the local community for their patience and understanding during the security operation.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have any information which could assist with the investigation is asked contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 878 of 11/05/23.

A security alert is continuing in Newtownabbey, following reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Ballyclare Road area on Friday (July 8). Army technical officers are attending the scene. The Ballyclare Road, near the entrance to Glengormley Park remains closed, as well as the junction of Portland Avenue and Ballyclare Road.

Viable Device Recovered After Ballyclare Security Alert
A viable device has been recovered following a security alert in the Ballyclare area on Saturday night, 26th April. Police received a report of a suspicious object in a residential area at approximately 10:50pm. Officers attended the scene, and the object was subsequently declared viable and removed for further forensic examination.

'Viable Pipe Bomb Type Device' In L'Derry Security Alert
Police have declared a security alert in Londonderry was the result of a "viable pipe bomb type device". The alert began with reports of a "loud bang" outside a house in Bann Drive at about 11.15pm on Tuesday, 17 July. It is understood that a man and woman were in the house at the time of the incident but escaped uninjured.
