PSNI Awarded Forfeiture Order In Drugs-Related Criminality Investigation

The PSNI has been awarded a forfeiture order for £39,315 at a hearing at Belfast Magistrate's Court.

The case was linked to an ongoing Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) investigation into the suspected drugs-related criminality of the East Belfast UVF.

Detective Sergeant Pyper from the PCTF said: "This forfeiture highlights the PCTF's ongoing commitment to pursuing proceeds of crime generated from the criminal activities of paramilitary groupings, sending a clear message that crime doesn't pay.

"This forfeiture has been made possible with the support of the local community. I would appeal to the public to continue to provide information on those they suspect to be living a criminally-funded lifestyle so we can investigate. We will deprive criminals of their cash and use it for a better purpose."

Translink To Review Lagan Valley Hospital Transport Links

Alliance has welcomed the news that Translink will review the public transport links to the health centre at the Lagan Valley Hospital site.

The previous health centre was served by a nearby bus stop but a recent relocation on the Lagan Valley hospital site means those using public transport to access the health centre have been left without a bus connection.

Lagan Valley MLA David Honeyford said: "I'm delighted Translink has committed to review and examine the bus routes across Lisburn to help with connectivity.

"They have also confirmed they would seek to look at connections that currently exist from the bus centre that travel past the Lagan Valley Hospital site, with a view to making public transport more accessible and convenient for those using the new Health Centre.

"This is positive news for local residents who rely on public transport. Improving connections to the health centre will ensure everyone in the community has easy access to essential healthcare services.

"The new Lisburn Health Centre is an important addition to the local area, and Translink's commitment to improving public transport connections is a welcome move."

Aspire Lounges To Invest £1.2m In Belfast City Airport

Aspire Lounges has announced an investment of £1.2 million at Belfast City Airport.

In partnership with concept design specialists DV8 Designs, the existing lounge area will be extended to accommodate 178 seats, effectively increasing its capacity by 70 people.

The updated lounge will integrate a combination of tiled and curved slatted screens, comfortable seating designed with plush upholstery, and enclosed private booths to enhance privacy.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Giant’s Causeway, the lounge will utilise feature LED lighting to evoke a strong sense of local identity while the use of warm colours will create a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

The new lounge is expected to open this summer.
