Man Arrested In Connection With 'Creeper Style' Burglary In Lisburn
A man in his 20s has been arrested following a creeper style burglary in Lisburn.
At approximately 10am on Saturday 12 August, police received a report that a man had gained entry to a house in the Bridge Street area and stole the keys to a grey coloured BMW, before making off in the vehicle.
The car was later seen driving erratically in the Newtownards area where it mounted a footpath and crashed in another vehicle injuring two people inside.
They were both taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver then made off in the direction of west Belfast where he was detained by police in the Sultan's Square area.
Chief Inspector McGrattan said: "The man, aged in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including burglary with intent to steal, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop where accident occurred causing damage.
"He has since been released on bail to allow for further enquiries.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the car in any of these areas or anyone who may have footage that could assist with enquiries to contact police on 101 quoting reference 475 of 11/08/23."

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style shooting in Co L'Derry. A 33-year-old man was shot in the legs and abdomen in the Lisfannon Park area on Tuesday, 08 August. Police described the assault as "brutal and horrific". The 43-year-old suspect was detained in L'Derry on Tuesday, 15 August.
