Former DUP Mayor Stripped Of MBE

A former DUP mayor has been stripped of his MBE following a conviction for a sexual offence.

Thomas Hogg was found guilty in 2021 of an offence against a teenage boy.

He had been made an MBE in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

He resigned from the party in 2019.

The Cabinet Office listed Hogg amongst the people who had forfeited honours on Tuesday.

He received a suspended sentence.

Northern Ireland’s best celebrated in Queen’s 2002 honours list
One knighthood is among the Queen’s New Year 2002 Honours List for Northern Ireland. Already holding a CBE, Patrick Armstrong has received a Knighthood for services to the police. Joining the Police Authority in 1991, he became was appointed vice-chairman in 1994 and chairman in 1997.
