USPCA Awarded £100,000
Animal welfare charity, USPCA, has been awarded £100,000 from the Dormant Accounts Fund NI.
The money will support growth and development over the next three years.
Chair of the USPCA Dr John Farrell said: "A key focus of the Board is to diversify our income model. We have three social enterprises, that have the potential to grow, and we also know there are untapped opportunities we have not had the chance to explore. This funding provides us with the space and resources to develop and expand that will ultimately help us to build a sustainable financial model."
Nora Smith CEO of USPCA commented: "The funding will be used to appoint a Business Development Manager, which will make such a difference. Applying to Dormant Accounts has given us the funding to make the changes we need over the next three years to help further our work in advancing animal welfare in NI."

Three Arrested in L'Derry For Drug Offences
Police in L'Derry have arrested three people and seized drugs worth an estimated £600. The arrests were made following a proactive policing operation in the city. On Monday, 18 November, officers observed suspicious behaviour from a 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman in the Strand Road area.

Dodds announces extra help for “most needy" in society
The Minister for Social Development, Nigel Dodds, has announced a further £1.73 million cash injection for the Northern Ireland Social fund. The increase brings the Social Fund, which helps the most needy people in society up to a total to £51 million for the next year.

Pathway Fund Applications Open For Early Years Providers
Education Minister, Paul Givan, has announced the opening of online applications for the Targeted Early Years Pathway Fund for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years. The Pathway Fund, introduced in 2016, aims to provide early years education services for children aged 0-4 who may be at risk of falling behind in their education.
