Men Jailed Over 'Terrifying' Threats To Kill Incident
Two men have been jailed after pleading guilty to making threats to kill.
36-year-old Jonathan Sterling, of Belfast and 41-year-old Stephen McLaughlin, of Belfast were both sentenced to 12 months, six months custody and six months on licence after their guilty plea on June 1st 2023.
Detective Inspector Lenaghan said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victims who should not have had to endure such an experience in their own home.
"I hope this sentencing sends out a clear message to anyone who thinks they can get away with this type of crime. We will work tirelessly to bring offenders before the courts so that that victims receive the justice they deserve.
"I would ask anyone who is a victim of crime to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, or 999 in an emergency."
