Appeal For Information On Burglary In Newry
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a burglary in the Derrybeg area of Newry on the evening of Thursday, 19th October.
Police received a report shortly after 9pm of a break in at a house in the Fifth Avenue area.
It is understood that a man was inside the house at around 8pm when he heard a noise from outside and the sound of glass breaking.
The man, aged in his 60s, went downstairs and a pane of glass on the kitchen door had been smashed and the door was slightly open.
He went outside and noticed the garden shed door had been forced open and a spade was taken from it. No one was outside at the time.
Detective Sergeant Dougherty said: "Our investigation is ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone with any information, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area between 8pm and 9pm on Thursday, 19th October to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 1855 19/10/23."

Police Appeal Following Distraction Burglary In North Belfast
Police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary in north Belfast. The incident happened in the Berlin Street area at around 1.30pm on Monday. Two men called to the door of a man's house and told him that he needed new guttering, and he would have to check the back of the property.

The PSNI have named a man who died following a road traffic collision outside Tandragee, as 84-year-old Sidney McIldoon. Mr McIldoon, who was from Portadown, died following a collision between his vehicle and a tractor on Tuesday afternoon, 13th February on the Cornascriebe Road, between Tandragee and Hamiltonsbawn.
