Appeal For Information On 'Nasty' Robbery In Omagh
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a "nasty" robbery in Omagh.
Police received a report, that at around 1.30am on Monday, 19th February a man aged in his in his 40s was cycling in the Cranny Road area of the town, alongside the river, when he was set upon by a group of six people, dressed in dark clothing with hoods up.
One of the people in the group punched the man in the face and he was then set upon by the group. He was further punched and kicked before his wallet, containing a substantial sum of cash, was taken from his pocket. The group then made off in the direction of the public toilets.
Detective Constable McKenna said: "The victim attended hospital where he received staples to wounds to both his arm and leg. Although he did not see a weapon, he believes these wounds may have been made with a blade.
"This was a nasty assault which had the potential to result in more serious injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with relevant information, including dashcam, CCTV or other video footage, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 97 of 19/02/24."

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information on a stabbing incident in Dervock in Ballymoney on the evening of Sunday 30 July. At approximately 9.50pm, police received a report that two men had been stabbed during an altercation outside a bar in the Carncullagh Road area of the town.

At approximately 8.35pm police received a report that a man, armed with a knife, had entered the premises and threatened staff.
