Storm Kathleen Warning: Gusts Of Up 70mph Forecast
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for "potentially damaging and disruptive winds" across Northern Ireland on Saturday, 06 April.
Named by Met Éireann as Storm Kathleen, it is the 11th named storm to date this year. The storm is expected to bring widespread gusts of more than 50mph across Northern Ireland on Saturday, with gusts potentially reaching higher speeds of up to 70mph in exposed and coastal areas.
The weather warning comes into force from 8am and remains in place until 10pm.
The Met Office has warned of:
• Some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen
• Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible
• Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
• Injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties
• Some roads and bridges may close
• Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible
Posting to X, DAERA has advised people not to visit forests, country parks and nature reserves "until the high winds subside".

Met Office Issues Amber Weather Warning
The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for Northern Ireland as Storm Isha is set to hit this weekend. On Sunday, 21 January, a wind alert will come into force at 6pm and will remain in place until 9am on Monday, 22 January. A separate yellow weather warning has been put in place between noon on Sunday and noon on Monday.

Storm Arwen: Yellow Warning Issued For High Winds
A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued across Northern Ireland as the first named storm of the season, Storm Arwen, hits the UK. The Met Office has warned of very strong winds, with gusts up to 60mph/100km/h in exposed areas. The weather warning came into effect at 9am this morning and remains in place until 6pm on Saturday.

Severe Weather Warning Issued
A Status Yellow severe weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office as Storm Ciara makes its way to the UK. The weather system is currently developing in the North Atlantic and is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain through the end of the weekend and into the start of next week.
