Children attacked in north Belfast
Catholic school children have been attacked as they stepped off a school bus in north Belfast on Monday.
The vehicle, which was carrying pupils from the Edmund Rice Primary School, had stopped near Ligoniel when a number of youths approached.
As several of the children disembarked they were attacked by the youths, however no-one was seriously hurt in the incident.
Sinn Féin councillor for the area, Eoin O’Broin claimed loyalists were behind the incident.
“This attack was an act of cowardice. Those responsible picked a very easy
target and attacked a vulnerable set of school children," he added.
A police spokesman, however, denied the claim saying there was no evidence that the attack was sectarian.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.
