PSNI Names Woman Found Dead In East Belfast

A woman found dead at a house in east Belfast on Wednesday, 15 May, has been named by the PSNI as Kathryn 'Kat' Parton.

A murder investigation has been launched into the death after Kathryn's body was discovered in a house in the Madrid Street area. The 34-year-old had suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people – a woman aged 43 and two men aged 22 and 23 – were arrested on suspicion of murder. All three remain in custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Michelle Griffin said: "My thoughts at this time are first and foremost with Kathryn's family, who are left trying to come to terms with their loss.

"Our investigation is at an early stage and enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances. I am asking anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact detectives on 101. Please quote reference 1190 of 15/05/24."

Investigation Launched Following Fatal Crash In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation following a fatal crash in Co Antrim. The collision, between a bus and a car, happened in Randalstown at around 2.45pm on Sunday, 11 February. A 58-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she sustained in the incident. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

23-Year-Old Man Charged With Murder Of Kathryn Parton
The PSNI has reported that a 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 34 year old Kathryn Parton, who was found dead at her home in Madrid Street in east Belfast on Wednesday, 15 May. A 43 year old woman and a 22 year old man have also been charged with the offences of assisting an offender and of aiding and abetting a breach of bail.
