Appeal For Information On Ballymena Petrol Bomb Attack
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Ballymena on Monday, 20 may.
Shortly before 00:05am, it was reported that a car was set alight outside a property in the Wakehurst Park area. Damage was caused to the front driver's window of the vehicle and an object was placed inside and ignited. Damage was reported to the driver's seat of the vehicle, with the fire put out before spreading throughout the car.
Making an appeal for information, Inspector Graham said: "Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and police would appeal to anyone with any information to assist with the investigation, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 9 20/05/24. Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org/."
Two Major Roadworks Schemes Announced For Portglenone
Two major roadworks schemes in Portglenone will get underway on Monday, 27 May, Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has announced.
The two carriageway resurfacing schemes on the A54 Ballymacombs Road represent an investment of £530,000.
The first resurfacing scheme will extend from Glenone Road to Mullaghnamoyagh Road and the second scheme along a 1.4kilometres section of road between Downings Road & Tamlaghtduff Road.
Minister O'Dowd said: "This substantial investment of £530,000 for the Portglenone & Bellaghy areas will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users and demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
To facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme it will be necessary to implement a road closure, from Clady Road, Portglenone to Ballynease Road, Bellaghy between the hours of 7.30 am and 6.00 pm from Monday 27 May 2024 until Friday 14 June 2024.
During these times signed diversionary routes will be in place via A42 Clady Road / Mayogall Road, B182 Gulladuff Road, A54 Main Street / William Street / Ballynease Road and vice versa.
Subject to favourable weather conditions, the works will be substantially complete by Friday 14 June 2024, however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.

Belfast Harbour Marina has achieved Blue Flag status for the first time in its history, after being revealed as one of a number of local winners of the prestigious accolade.
Located at the heart of the Maritime Mile, close to the SSE Arena and Titanic Belfast, the Marina was one of seven across Northern Ireland which have earned the coveted distinction after meeting world-class standards in criteria such as safety, accessibility, cleanliness, and environmental education.
