£3m To Be Invested In New Digital Devices For NI Schools
£3 million is to be invested to provide around 8,5000 new digital devices to replace computers in post-primary schools across Northern Ireland.
Announcing the investment, Education Minister, Paul Givan, said: "Access to quality, up-to-date technology is vital for children and young people. I am confident this £3million investment in digital devices will provide enhanced learning and teaching experiences for pupils across Northern Ireland.
"I was delighted to visit Banbridge Academy today to see their new equipment and meet pupils and staff. My Department's significant investment in digital infrastructure across the schools' estate will deliver high-quality digital services to schools supporting learning, teaching and administration."
The provision of digital devices is part of the wider Education Information Solutions (EdIS) Programme, a digital change programme which will provide investment of £750million to transform and modernise digital infrastructure in schools during the next 10 years.
