Trade Unions' Response To EA Pay And Grading Review Welcomed
Education Minister Paul Givan, has welcomed the news that support staff unions will seek input from their members regarding the proposed Pay and Grading Review resolution.
After productive negotiations, an agreement has been formulated and will be presented to union members for consideration.
Welcoming the decision the Minister said: "I welcome today’s positive development that all the support staff unions have agreed to formally consult their membership on a jointly developed resolution to the pay and grading dispute.
"I am pleased that this significant progress has been achieved in advance of the summer break in schools and I will continue to work with the unions and Executive colleagues to deliver a resolution before the start of the new school year."
The support staff unions, GMB, NIPSA, UNISON and Unite the Union have agreed to consult their membership on the terms of the proposed agreement in the coming weeks.

Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have made a significant drug seizure in Omagh. Officers searched a van in the Doogary Road area on Thursday morning, 21st November, and recovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of £750,000.

£17m To Support Pensioners Affected By Winter Fuel Payment Changes
Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has announced a £17 million fund to support pensioners who have lost eligibility for the Winter Fuel Payment due to recent UK government changes. The one-off £100 payment will be automatically issued to an estimated 250,000 pensioners in around 170,000 households before the end of March 2025.
