Police appeal over attempted abduction
Police are appealing for information following the attempted abduction of a woman in west Belfast at the weekend.
The 20-year-old woman was waiting for a taxi on the Glen Road at around 2am on Sunday when two men pulled up in a car and tried to force her into the vehicle.
The victim, who had her handbag stolen during the ordeal, was able to struggle free as the men sped off in their car towards Belfast city centre.
The woman was left with serious bruising to her upper body and has been treated in hospital.
Police have appealed to taxi drivers who were in the area at the time to contact them to report anything suspicious.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Police have launched an investigation following a fatal crash in Co Antrim. The collision, between a bus and a car, happened in Randalstown at around 2.45pm on Sunday, 11 February. A 58-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she sustained in the incident. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Valerie Armstrong died after she was struck by a scrambler at Colin Glen Forest Park on Tuesday, 19 July. A 17-year-old male appeared in court accused of causing death by dangerous driving and having no insurance.
