Police Investigating Fire At 5G Communications Mast

An investigation has been launched following a suspected arson attack on a 5G communications mast in West Belfast.

At around 9.30pm last night, Tuesday, 30 July, emergency services responded to reports of a fire at the Dairy Farm in the Stewartstown Road area.

It is understood that 'significant damage' has been caused to the 5G communications mast.

The PSNI have described the incident as "reckless and dangerous" and posed a serious threat to the public.

Anyone with any information about the incident, or anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the Stewartstown Road area, is asked to contact police.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
