University offers student placements
The School of International Business at the University of Ulster is offering employers throughout Northern Ireland the chance to have a top-flight student to help with their business for a year.
Based at the University’s Magee campus, the School of International Business delivers challenging theoretical and practical education in a number of disciplines in the broad business and management area including: accounting, enterprise, e-business, human resource management and marketing.
A 48-week Industrial Placement is an integral part of the course, and is reliant on valuable work experience being gained within a relevant business environment.
Placement Co-ordinator Helen Shiels said: “Providing a placement for one of our BA Honours Business Studies students can be a real boost for a small or large business, bringing highly motivated and skilled staff who are willing and eager to learn and are expected to make a valuable contribution to the host business.
"In return, students gain from this placement process through the development of their employability skills and their understanding of the world of work, whilst also providing them with an opportunity to develop their personal and interpersonal skills."
Current placement providers are drawn from a diverse range of organisations including CIE Tours International New Jersey, BBC Northern Ireland, Norbrook Technologies, and from various sectors including health trusts, government agencies retail, hospitality and professional practices.
Companies interested in recruiting students for this year should contact Ann Brady on 028 7137 5768.
