Man Arrested After Fleeing The Scene Of A Collision In Crossgar

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after fleeing the scene of a collision in Crossgar on Sunday, 22 September.

At around 6.45pm, police received a report of a car on its roof in the Ballytrim Road area.

Police attended and discovered the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene. A passenger remained in the vehicle with minor injuries.

PSNI Air Support was launched and the suspected driver was located a short time later.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol, driving while disqualified and failing to stop, remain and report. He remains in custody at this time.

Sergeant Ritchie said: "Thankfully, no other vehicles were involved in this collision, and we are grateful that the consequences were not much more serious.

"The Ballytrim Road has been closed to facilitate vehicle recovery.

"We would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who saw a black BMW 520d Sport in the area at the time leading up to the collision, to contact police.

Police Investigate Fatal Collision Near Ballymena
An investigation has launched following a fatal collision near Ballymoney. According to reports, a man aged in his 70s and a woman aged in her 40s were killed when a car and a construction vehicle collided on the Benvardin Road at about 4pm on Monday 16 November. Victim Of Fatal Road Collision In Co Antrim Named
The victim of a fatal road crash in Crumlin, Co Antrim, has been named as Emmanuel Caddell, police have confirmed. Mr Caddell, 22, died following the two-vehicle collision involving a car and a lorry on Monday, 10 April. The incident happened on the Manse Road at around 10.50am. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A man has died in a road crash in Co Fermanagh. The one-vehicle collision happened on the Tattymacall Road in Lisbellaw at approximately 5.10pm on Monday, 05 September. The road has been re-opened. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Three People Charged Over Six-Car Collision In North Belfast
Three people have been charged in connection with a six-car collision in north Belfast. The crash happened on the Crumlin Road on Tuesday, 03 July. Police had been pursuing a stolen car after it failed to stop and caused a six-car pile up. Five people and a child had to receive hospital treatment.
