Police launch murder inquiry after teenager stabbed in Banbridge
A 17-year-old youth has died in a Newry hospital after being stabbed at Erinvale Terrace in Banbridge in the early hours of this morning.
Police have launched a murder inquiry into the killing, and one person has been arrested.
Police were alerted by a telephone call at around 2.30am this morning, and forensic teams are examining the area, which has been cordoned off.
Friends of the dead teenager have been visiting the scene throughout the day to leave flowers at the police cordon.
A post-mortem examination is currently in progress.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Belfast woman among motorway dead
A Belfast woman was one of the seven people to die in yesterday's motorway crash near Manchester, police have confirmed. The 50-year-old, along with her husband who suffered minor injuries, was one of 14 holidaymakers caught in the accident involving a minibus and a car on the M56 at around 5.45am.

Man Arrested In Bangor Shooting Investigation
A man has been arrested by detectives investigating the attempted murder of two men in Bangor. The male victims, aged 24 and 33, were shot as they sat in a car in the Eastway area of the Whitehill estate at about 00:45 on 10 February. UTV has reported that the UVF are thought to have been behind the attack.
