Food store robbed in south Belfast
Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a food store in south Belfast last night.
At around 7.30pm, two males, believed to be in their late teens, entered the shop on the Upper Lisburn Road and threatened staff with a handgun before making off with an undisclosed sum of cash from a safe and tills.
One of the teens is described as being approximately 5’5 tall of thin build wearing a light coloured hooded top. The other is around 5’8 tall of heavy build and was wearing a black woollen hat. Both men are believed to have made off on foot.
Detectives at Musgrave Street are appealing for anyone with information to contact them but they particularly want to hear from the occupants of a left-hand drive Vauxhall Calibra car that was parked outside the premises at the time.
Police can be contacted on 028 9065 0222 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
