Appeal Following Arson Attack In Ballymena

Police are investigating an arson attack in Ballymena in the early hours of Friday morning.

Officers were called to reports of a fire in the Dunclug Park area at around 2.45am.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but a carport, two cars, and several tools were extensively damaged. A third car was also damaged.

Police believe that accelerant was used to start the fire, which was close to a house with five people inside. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Inspector Ash appealed to the public for information: "Our investigation is ongoing and anyone with information including dash-cam, mobile or CCTV footage of the area or who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the time of the report are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 98 29/11/24."
