Tourism Ireland Unveils 2025 Strategy To Boost Overseas Visitors

Tourism Ireland has launched its 2025 marketing strategy, aiming to increase overseas tourism to Northern Ireland revenue to £1.3 billion per year by 2035.

The strategy, unveiled at an event attended by Economy Minister Conor Murphy, focuses on attracting "value-adding tourists" who spend more and contribute significantly to local economies.

Key initiatives for 2025 include:

• "Slow Tourism Month": Encouraging visitors to explore the island of Ireland at a slower pace, with a focus on sustainable travel and supporting local communities.

• Global Advertising Campaign: A new global campaign featuring the "Derry Girls" will be launched across 13+ overseas markets to position the island of Ireland as a "bucket list" destination.

Tourism Ireland aims to achieve an average annual growth of 6.5% in overseas tourism revenue, building on the success of its previous campaigns.
