Man Arrested After Hit And Run On Crumlin Road

Police in north Belfast have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run collision on the Crumlin Road on Saturday, 01 March.

The incident occurred shortly before 11:30 pm, when a male pedestrian in his 30s was struck by a white van outside the Mater Hospital. The van fled the scene without stopping. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.

The 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of several offences and is currently in police custody.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage. Anyone who was travelling on the Crumlin Road late on Saturday night and witnessed the collision or has relevant footage is asked to contact Tennent Street police station on 101, quoting reference number 1797 01/03/25.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder

A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Arrested Under Terrorism Act
A man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act in Co Tyrone. The 34-year-old was detained in the Coalisland area on Tuesday, 19 June. He is currently in custody at Musgrave police station. The arrest is in relation to a weapons and ammunition find at a garage in the Mountjoy Road in 2011.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.
