Man appears in court following sword attack
A Co Down man has been charged with attempting to murder two men at the weekend.
Mark McNulty, 22, of Canal Street in Newry, is accused of stabbing the two men with a sword, as well as threatening to kill a third man, during the alleged incident in Newry at around 10pm on Saturday.
Appearing before a court in Armagh today, Mr McNulty replied "no comment" when the charges were put to him. However, a detective constable told the court he believed he could connect the accused to the charges.
Mr McNulty was remanded in custody to appear via video-link at Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A man has been charged following a road accident on Monday in which a 33-year-old woman died. The 38-year-old man was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit. A second woman was seriously injured in the crash which occurred on Monday on the Newry to Belfast road.

Man Charged Over Banbridge Murder
A man charged with the murder of another man found dead in Banbridge is to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court today, 13 July. The body of 55-year-old Richard Gerard Scullion was found at a property in the Millmount Court area on Monday, 09 July. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A man has gone on trial accused of biting off another man's ear. John Totten, 27, of Milebush Close in Belfast, appeared at Belfast Crown Court charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. The incident occurred outside of the bar at the Bentra Golf Club, Whitehead, in July 2006.
