Man Arrested After Driving On Wrong Side Of Motorway
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a series of collisions on the Belfast Road outside Bangor this afternoon, Saturday 29 March.
The incident occurred at approximately 11.25am when police officers on patrol travelling on the Belfast Road towards Bangor witnessed a silver MG driving towards them on the wrong side of the A2 dual carriageway.
Officers immediately exited their vehicle and signalled for the driver to stop. However, the driver failed to comply and continued driving in the direction of Belfast. Police have confirmed that several members of the public reported damage to their vehicles caused by the silver MG before officers were able to bring the vehicle to a halt at a layby.
Two individuals were taken to hospital to be assessed following the collisions. The arrested man remains in police custody at this time, and investigations are ongoing.

Two Men Arrested Following Police Pursuit In North Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a police pursuit in North Belfast. It is understood that the police pursuit began late on Saturday, 21 July following reports that a vehicle had been involved in a theft at a shop on the Oldpark Road. The suspect vehicle was spotted by police just before midnight in the Ardoyne area and a pursuit began.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
